Background:

St Martin's CofE Primary School was founded in the early 19th century, and has been in its present location since 1967. The site houses four classrooms, a hall, two libraries and a swimming pool. Almost half an acre of the grounds has been devoted to a wildlife area, which has won national and regional Awards for its insect and plant life. The school's football and netball teams compete in the local leagues. It is in the process of setting up an internet site for the village. The school visits and corresponds with the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, and each year a different charity is supported.
