Background:

The present school building was opened in 1968 and is located in a modern private housing estate. The building is well maintained and surrounded by play areas and playing fields. Facilities include eight classrooms, large hall, dining area, library, information and communication technology (ICT) suite, music and audio-visual room, administrative offices and home economics and resource areas. The school celebrates major events in the Christian calendar both in school and at the local church. Christian values are also built into the school's ethos, but children of all faiths are welcomed. Out of school clubs and activities are available but vary due to staffing. Sporting opoprtunities include football, cricket and netball but are mainly aimed at older pupils. There is also a computer club and French lessons are offered by Le Club Francais. Support for children with special educational needs (SEN) includes individual work programmes, small group work, tasks for parents and children to work on together at home and assitance from the local education authority's STEPS team.
