Background:
Woodseats is a community primary co-educational day school, catering for the four to 11 year age group. The school is situated approximately two miles south of the centre of the City of Sheffield, beside the A61 road. The school was built in the first decade of last century and consists of two large stone buildings. The south building is used for classes of the youngest children and the large north building houses the older classes. The school also has an ICT suite, which has recently been refurbished, upgraded and extended. It consists of 17 computers with internet access enabling whole class teaching. The extra-curricular programme is designed to complement and extend the work carried out by the children during lesson times. Clubs, groups and coaching sessions are organised by staff during their own time, usually, during lunchtimes or after-school. The school aims to enable each child to develop in their own way as individuals and to reach their potential.
