Background:
Wales is a co-educational comprehensive school, admitting boys and girls of all abilities from 11 to 19 years of age. It is situated on the edge of the villages of Wales and Kiveton Park serving a wide community. The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities at lunchtime and after-school, which includes athletics, cricket, basketball, badminton, cross-country, running, hockey, netball, rounders, rugby union, soccer and tennis. During the course of year the school offers the widest possible range of residential experiences including department of outdoor pursuits ventures throughout the British Isles and abroad as well as residential centre study weeks in Derbyshire. A variety of day visits are arranged to theatres, museums, cathedrals and places of historical interest. The school aims to provide a balanced educational experience for all members of the community and seeks to promote a caring and learning rich environment.
