Background:
The school was built in 1972. It is located in a 'deprived area', with 43 per cent of pupils taking school meals. The school has close links with Holy Trinity Church and includes parish facilities for church organisations and meetings. Trinity croft offers a 'broad and balanced curriculum, with heavy emphasis placed upon the importance of literacy and numeracy'. It offers a range of extra-curricular activities which includes football, rounders, recorders, matball, netball and athletics. The school has a 'particularly strong' reputation in music and has peformed both locally and further afield. It has 'considerable success' in sport, winning matball, football, rounders and swimming trophies. Pupils are encouraged to participate in fund-raising for local and national charities. The school has close links with the Fellowship of the Services and the children march with ex-soldiers on the 11th November.
