Background:

Main school building erected in 1873, then called Norton Woodseats Mixed Junior and Infant School. Later post-war additions include a hall and dining room as well as classrooms. The name Mundella comes from the Member of Parliament who improved the conditions of cutlery workers in Sheffield and promoted the 1870 Education Act. The school is situated in a well established area of mixed housing near to Graves Park, one of the largest public parks in Sheffield. The school has enjoyed success in many curriculum areas; these have included language and technology where national competitions have been won. Links with the community include musical performances for senior citizens and charity work raises hundreds of pounds each year for good causes. Over-subscribed.
