Background:
Copley Junior School is a Community Junior School, which welcomes children from seven to 11 years of age. It is a modern building in a rural setting on the edge of Sprotbrough village. The school has a large playing field, attractive gardens and greenhouse. Children are involved in looking after the gardens as part of their lessons. A wildlife pond has been developed by children and is a source of much enjoyment, as well as a focus for study. There is a wild area at the edge of the field and a meadow and copse are well established. Extensive use is made of the excellent facilities within the school grounds. School visits are planned for in all year groups to provide further information and experience. The school is strongly represented in local football, cricket, rugby and swimming teams and have close links with several clubs and sports associations.
