Background:

The school is situated about two miles from the city centre in pleasant surroundings adjoining a nature reserve and the racecourse. It was formed in 1978 when Doncaster High merged with a local grammar and Danum now occupies a split site bordered by woodland and with 20 acres of playing fields. Its two modern, two-storey buildings are less than a mile apart and connected by a causeway and each offers excellent teaching facilities. It has strengths in sport including athletics, football, basketball and rounders and was awarded the Sportsmark in 1998 for commitment to physical education and sport. The school aims to provide a safe, tolerant, intimidation-free, caring and supportive environment.
