Background:
Aston Fence was founded in 1877. The accommodation consists of one main building housing a hall, offices and two classrooms and three outside classrooms. There is an excellent school playing field and a small playground which was recently redecorated. Extra-curricular activities for both boys and girls include football, hockey, drama, craft, computers and writing clubs. A house system has recently been set up and pupils can earn team points by participating in football, rounders and athletics competitions. Year 6 children all have extra responsibilities from librarian to road safety officer. Links with the community are valued for their educational possibilities and complement a topic based approach to learning through first hand experience. Each year a local charity is selected for support, together with another more general cause.
