The school was founded in 1972; Sir Harold Jackson School is on the edge of Sheffield and close to the peak district national park. The school has extensive grounds. The school has 14 teaching bases, a school library, a computer suite, a resources area and a large hall. It provides large playground to enhance the learning. The school provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities including: athletics, swimming, cricket, short tennis, football, basketball, golf and hockey. It also provides lunchtime and after-school activities. The school aims to achieve the pursuit of excellence in all that it does, so that it experience enjoyment in its achievements.
