Background:
The present school was opened in 1985 and serves Belton and outlying villages. It is situated in the High Street, the village's busiest area, and is therefore a 'focal point' for the whole community. The school building has a 'pleasant' semi-open plan design and the grounds include wildlife and sanctuary areas. The wide range of extra-curricular activities offered includes choir, recorder, guitar, basketball, gymnastics, football, netball, country dancing, art, cycle training and sports practices and inter-school matches. Children can also receive tuition in a musical instrument and swimming lessons are provided for Year 4 pupils. The school is over-subscribed. 'We seek to provide a rural, family school providing high quality education in a holistic way'.
