Background:
Anston Brook Primary School opened in September 1999. Its aim to provide a rich learning environment for all. ICT is used across the curriculum for communicating and handling information, controlling devices and using IT based models. It has recently installed a mini ICT suite specifically for the foundation children. Children are taught to use outdoor equipment safely and skilfully, and hopefully develop coordination and social skills, eg taking turns. Extra-curricular activities include recorders and a choir. There are also opportunities for brass, woodwind and string tuition using the peripatetic music services. The school has two halls, one is purpose built with a sprung floor and is equipped with large apparatus. The school field is marked out for track sports life style. The school aims to provide a safe, attractive stimulating and friendly environment.
