Background:

Wath Secondary School began in 1923, as Wath Comprehensive School: a Language College is a large mixed 11 to 18 school in the Dearne Valley. At Easter 2005, it moves into a brand new, purpose-built school. Wath Comprehensive School emphasizes high standards of work in order to achieve maximum progress for all students. The religious education involves an exploration of religious ideas and moral concerns in order to provide pupils with the necessary facts and skills needed to understand and make decisions in this area of human experience. The school prides itself on both the range of extra-curricular activities offered and the high standards achieved. In recognition of this the school was presented with Sportsmark - a National Award for sporting excellence and provision.
