Background:
Opened in 1968 in purpose-built premises, it occupies a semi-rural location to the northwest of Doncaster. It is set in 41 acres and accommodation comprises 13 separate, mainly specialist buildings. In addition to core national curriculum subjects, drama, art, music, German, food and nutrition, business studies and information systems are all offered as examination subjects, and community studies as a non-examination subject. Children with special educational needs receive help in tutorials which form part of the curriculum. It has special expertise in the education of partially sighted and hearing-impaired children. The school aims to help all pupils to realise their full potential at every level.
